Each Truckers Yoke™ Brand Strapping Block measures 5 inches wide, 11.5 inches long, and 9 inches high, with an approximate weight of 1.2 pounds. Constructed from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in a bright safety yellow color, these blocks are both durable and highly visible, enhancing safety during loading and unloading operations.
Designed for use with 4×4 timber dunnage, the Truckers Yoke™ system provides a secure attachment point for ratchet straps, integrating the strap to prevent vibrational movement or “walking” of dunnage. This integration ensures that the timber remains firmly in place during transit, reducing the risk of load shifts that could compromise safety.
Application Use
The Truckers Yoke™ system was innovated by a trucker who experienced timber dunnage shifting into his blind spot during a night haul of oilfield equipment. Recognizing the safety implications and the potential impact on his CDL, he developed this solution to mitigate such risks.
A Yoke is applied to each end of a 4×4 Timber (to achieve a total length of 102”) & affixed with a 3/8”x4” lag screw with a 3/8”x1-1/2” fender washer on one side only.
These strapping blocks are particularly useful for dead-heading and are crucial for creating solid supports for irregularly shaped loads. Additionally, the Truckers Yoke™ system facilitates the tie-down process by holding the strap in place, enhancing overall load security.
